A disciplined six-stage engineering system in which every process step is monitored, measured and independently certified by our accredited Chemical Analytical Laboratory.
At KNPZ, petroleum refining is not simply a mechanical process — it is a disciplined engineering system in which every stage is monitored, measured and certified. Our refinery operates on a continuous basis, applying industry-standard refining technologies aligned with a classic atmospheric-vacuum distillation configuration enhanced by dedicated product blending, additive dosing and in-line quality monitoring systems.
All incoming crude feedstock is received and quality-tested before entering the refinery system. Our accredited Chemical Analytical Laboratory analyses samples for density, water content, salt content, sulphur concentration and viscosity. Only crude meeting our intake specifications proceeds to the primary distillation stage.
The atmospheric distillation unit forms the core of our primary processing complex. Preheated crude is separated by boiling point into distinct hydrocarbon fractions in a continuously operated distillation column. The principal fractions produced are light naphtha, heavy naphtha, kerosene fraction, diesel distillate and atmospheric residue.
The atmospheric residue from the ADU is further processed under reduced pressure. By operating at sub-atmospheric pressure, the VDU distils heavier hydrocarbon fractions at lower temperatures, avoiding thermal cracking and maximising product recovery. This stage yields high-value Vacuum Gas Oil (VGO), bituminous vacuum residue processed into road bitumen, and Mazut M-100.
Our dedicated blending complex allows precise formulation of finished petroleum products to exact specification. Using primary distillation cuts and certified additive dosing systems, our blending operators produce seasonal diesel formulations, RON-92 and RON-95 gasoline, mazut M-100 and GOST-compliant bitumen grades. Modern petroleum fuels contain carefully measured performance additives including corrosion inhibitors, antioxidants, cold-flow improvers, detergents and demulsifiers.
Our in-house Chemical Analytical Laboratory (CAL) is accredited by the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology. Laboratory personnel conduct testing at every stage of production from crude intake to finished product loading. Laboratory test capabilities include density, viscosity, flash point, pour point and cloud point; sulphur content analysis by XRF; octane number by CFR engine method per GOST 511; cetane number testing; and full bitumen characterisation covering penetration, softening point and ductility.
Finished products are transferred to our dedicated tank farm for storage prior to dispatch. Our tank farm is equipped with calibrated metering systems, temperature monitoring for heated-product storage and safety systems meeting Kazakhstan industrial safety requirements. Products are dispatched by road tanker or rail cistern, with all volumes measured through certified custody-transfer meters. Full dispatch documentation — including the product conformity certificate, quality passport and delivery note — is issued to the buyer at the point of dispatch.
Our certified products meet TR CU 013/2011 and GOST standards. Contact our team to discuss your supply requirements.
